Hi, and welcome to Cognita Vita! A little bit about us. My name is Chris and my co-conspirator in this endeavor is Lucas. We are recent college grads that quickly learned the real world isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Don’t get me wrong, I like the homework-free nights and weekends, but it’s more than just clockin’ in at 8 and leaving at 5. There’s a maze of bills, taxes, interviews, negotiations, illnesses and other stomach-turning obstacles that you must navigate. Sure, we were told about these things growing up. Yeah, we saw our parents stress over them and know they’re all very important aspects of life. But we never seem to grasp the gravity of the situation until it’s sitting on top of us and weighing us down. Should these things be taught in school? Probably. However, it doesn’t change the fact that they aren’t and it would probably take an act of congress just to include one of these things in the curriculum. So we’re left to fend for ourselves.
And that’s why we’ve started this blog. Being recent college graduates, we are going through a lot of these things for the first time ourselves. We know how scary and intimidating some of these things seem. But we want to share our experiences with you so you don’t feel so lost and alone in your own journey to independence. We want to create a road map for you. Something to at least guide you in the right direction when dealing with new problems and questions in your life. Not to say we know everything, far from it, but we want share with you our journey along our path to more knowledge. And hopefully get you more excited than fearful about stepping out on your own.
So join us! Learn from us and with us! And let us create our own exciting paths in this world as to encourage people to follow us.
